As cool as cars and trucks are, sometimes you gotta branch out. Experiment. Let’s get to know some other 4-wheeled vehicles that remind us transportation comes in all shapes and sizes. Street legal these things are not!
As I can personally attest, shredding sand is awesome. But shredding sand in the mother of all dune buggies is even better. This thing packs a pretty good punch for a cage with wheels. Just remember to pack some water when you take this deep into the Mojave. Oh, and sun screen. Sorry, our lawyers make us say stuff like that.
This isn’t the first whimsical riff on the staid old golf cart. But it definitely takes modification to the next level. Though, actually seeing Batman and Robin in something like this might be a little less than awe-inducing. What do you think, Robin? “Should I go for the 9-iron or the Driver?”
Okay, okay. This isn’t your typical ATV. But it’s kind of an ATV. It’s a vehicle and it is clearly is ready for all-terrain. All joking aside, I would love to take one of these bad boys for a spin somewhere between Nowhere, Nevada and Lost, Colorado.
Just don’t accidentally push the button that says “launch rockets.”
192 giga-whats? Sure, this is a car. But it also travels through time, so I think that kind of makes it less than street legal. Plus, it runs on Plutonium.
Kind of makes you wonder where you’d go if you had one? I’m thinking Ancient England. I could really go for a nice big hunk of roast mutton and a good joust, right about now.
STP, we should add, does NOT work on plutonium-powered vehicles… yet.
I was going to just post the coolest RV and the coolest amphibious car separately, but lo and behold, two cool vehicles in one amazing package. This thing takes “I’m on a boat” to a whole new level. Now it’s “I’m on a boat that’s an RV!” Plus, with one of these things, the road trip doesn’t have to stop when you get to California. Go west, young man.

Actually, Dune buggies and sand rails can be street legal. All the need is plates and blinkers. The DMC12 wouldnt be street legal because technically it’s too heavy for it’s way underpowered V6 and can’t even run 45 mph.

Why does it say the sand rail is not street legal? With a tag and lights, it is. Of course, some states have stupid laws, but in my experience (especially in southeast USA) most things are street legal. Speed, weight, or height doesn’t determine anything. Mopeds can’t even go 35mph and weight next to nothing. My truck has 49” Super Swamper tires and the headlights are over 6’ in the air. Bumpers are over 5’. I have a street legal sand rail, 2 go karts tagged out and a 1981 Honda 200 ATC 3 wheeler. All street legal. Motorcycles are not even required to have turn signals or mirrors. Bring that bad boy to Mississippi and have some fun, y’all!
